ENGAGE hosts a special presentation from actress, mother, and author Stephanie Kallos and a networking reception at The Standard Club in Chicago. The event will benefit The Ragdale Foundation and Literature for All of Us with donations of new and used children's books and a contribution from the ENGAGE group.

Stephanie Kallos spent twenty years in the theatre as and actress and teacher of voice, speech, and accents. Her short fiction has been awarded a Raymond Carver Award and nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Her first novel, Broken for You, won the Washington State and Pacific Northwest Booksellers Awards and was chosen by Sue Monk Kidd, author of The Secret Life of Bees, as a "Today Show" book club selection. Her second novel, Sing Them Home, was an IndieNext selection and a Shelf Awareness Pick of the Year. Stephanie lives in Seattle with her husband and sons and is at work on her third novel.

Ragdale, the fourth largest artist community in the country, is located 30 miles north of Chicago on the grounds of the summer retreat of well-known architect Howard Van Doren Shaw. Ragdale has been offering the gifts of time + space to outstanding writers, visual artists and composers from Chicago and around the world for over 30 years.
